Care with Heart: The Story Behind Butterfly Home Care

Butterfly Home Care began with a deeply personal journey. As a mother caring for a child with a disability, Becky Wang experienced firsthand how transformative compassionate care can be for both individuals and their families. She saw how patience, dignity, and connection can change lives, inspiring her to build a care agency where empathy and professionalism guide every interaction. Becky envisioned a service that honors independence, supports families, and treats every client as if they were part of her own.
From that vision grew Butterfly Home Care, an in-home support agency providing seniors and individuals with disabilities the comfort and security of remaining at home. The company offers assistance with daily activities, personal care, companionship, medication reminders, and respite services for families. Becky believes exceptional care begins with exceptional caregivers, and she has worked intentionally to create a culture where her team feels valued, supported, and empowered in their work.
Turning this heart-centered mission into a sustainable business presented challenges. Navigating licensing requirements, understanding compliance, building staffing systems, and managing finances required expertise beyond Becky’s experience as a new business owner. That is when she turned to the Loudoun Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
Through advising sessions, workshops, and hands-on guidance, the SBDC helped Becky refine her business plan, strengthen her financial structure, and map a clear growth strategy. Advisors supported her through operational decisions, marketing questions, and long-term planning. The partnership also provided encouragement and accountability as Butterfly Home Care expanded its services, team, and regional reach.
“The SBDC helped me turn my ideas into a solid business plan and gave me the confidence to grow the right way. Their support has been invaluable,” Becky shared.
Today, Butterfly Home Care is preparing for its next stage of growth. The company is investing in caregiver training, broadening community partnerships, and laying the foundation for a franchise network. Becky’s mission remains clear: to reach more families in need of dependable support and to create meaningful career opportunities for caregivers who share her passion for compassionate service.
“I am grateful for the SBDC’s guidance and their belief in my vision,” Becky said. “They helped me grow as a business owner and gave me the tools to build something that truly makes a difference.”
