Chandler Construction of VA

Chandler Construction of VA is a Virginia Class “A” Contractor.  Mike Chandler, owner, started this business in 1993.  The company does commercial and residential construction, for new and remodeled structures.

Mr. Chandler contacted the South Boston Branch of the Longwood Small Business Development Center looking for options to restructure his loans.  The Longwood/South Boston SBDC helped him write a business plan and complete his loan application.  His business plan and loan application were submitted, and his loan was approved.

In June, 2012, Mr. Chandler attended a presentation on “Basis Bookkeeping/Basic Payroll for Small Business Owners” at the Longwood SBDC.  He said that attending this seminar helped him have a better understanding of payroll and financial reports.

During the last four years, some building contractors have struggled to continue to operate due to the decline in home construction.  Chandler Construction of VA Inc. has continued to stay busy building and remodeling homes, and, unlike other contractors, retain two employees.

Mr. Chandler stated “the Longwood Small Business Development Center in South Boston was very instrumental in helping me restructure my loans and getting me on the right path to compete in today’s economy.  The South Boston office went above and beyond in helping me.”
